What interview questions should we be asking of contractors when tendering for a Passivhaus, AECB or High Performance construction project? Here's some of our standard questions to get you started:

1. Tell us about a high performance project you have worked on, and what you learnt from the experience that you can bring to this one?
2. What is the best air test result you have achieved on a building, and what did you do to achieve that result?
3. What risks do you see in meeting the standard for this development, and what can you do to mitigate them?
4. How will this affect the detailed design, choice of subcontractors, programme & sequencing, site management & QA?
5. What roles will be required within your organisation to make a successful project?
6. The whole team need to deliver quality work . How will you ensure that your supply chain will achieve the standard we expect, and for this project which subcontractors do you think are most critical to this?

We're not looking for experience with the exact construction, or to a particular standard but more their approach and willingness to understand the problems and be a part of the solution 🏆
