Our Focus
90 low-cost homes for West of Scotland Housing Association. At completion this was the largest Passivhaus Certified residential project in Scotland.
We were the Passivhaus Certifiers on this fantastic example of a simple design creating beautiful spaces.
The project was built from a standard timber frame provided by the main contractor with a small amount of external insulation to improve performance and a brickwork outer skin. As the heat loss was so low the homes were designed with direct electric heating and either heat pump hot water or direct electric hot water. Each flat has individual heat recovery ventilation.
Following handover, we are providing a simple and cheap monitoring strategy that enabled the housing association to affordably assess the real performance of the homes.

Client Testimonial
“West of Scotland appointed WARM as our Passivhaus Certifier due to their extensive knowledge and expertise in Passivhaus. This expertise was fundamental to the project reaching the milestones and standards required throughout the design, construction and completion stages of the development and we are really delighted to have achieved the largest Passivhaus-certified development in Scotland to date. The rigorous inspection regime and the attention to construction detail entailed in achieving Passivhaus certification resulted in exceptional standards of workmanship and air tightness. Now our tenants are reaping the rewards of living in their low energy, sustainable homes and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the positive impact this project has made”.
