Hinsley Lane
Student Residential
Hinsley Lane
Cambridge student accommodation offering great comfort and low energy consumption in buildings strongly influenced by a local vernacular.
The Team
- Client - St. John's College, University of Cambridge
- Architect - Allies and Morrison
- Contractor - Cocksedge
- Passivhaus Designer - Max Fordham
- M&E engineer - Calfordseaden
The WARM difference
WARM advised the Passivhaus designers on some of the nuances of internal heat gain and PER modelling for higher intensity residential projects and established a strong relationship with the contractor's Passivhaus Champion on site, navigating with them the challenges of completing the process when the buildings were already occupied.
Passivhaus Champion testimonial
"WARM were excellent to work with on the Hinsley Lane project. Their certification process is rigorous but also very collaborative, which helped the site team understand the intent behind the Passivhaus requirements and translate them into practical solutions during construction. That open dialogue was invaluable in achieving an exceptional level of fabric performance."
