Our Role: Passivhaus Consultants and Building Performance Monitoring

Primrose Park achieved Passivhaus Certification in 2018, at the time this was the largest certified residential project in the UK.

The focus of this project was to achieve Passivhaus in a cost-effective way using traditional building techniques and local suppliers. The scheme used simple services with a focus on designing for installation, commissioning and use. We provided Passivhaus design advice from the outset through to completion which included early stage modelling and optimisation, developing a simple mechanical building services performance specification, assessing potential construction techniques and products, supporting the client's internal window manufacturer in producing a suitable product, planning for success on site, site training and quality control and training for the client's maintenance teams.

Once the project was completed we carried out a two-year post occupancy monitoring programme to gather information on occupants' feedback, environmental conditions and energy use.
