WARM supported the delivery of 36 high‑quality, low‑energy homes at Vaughan Road in Exeter through our role as Passivhaus certifiers. WARM provided detailed review and verification of both design and on‑site evidence. Our certification process includes assessment of the building fabric, airtightness, ventilation installation, thermal bridge modelling, window specifications and PHPP compliance.
Across the scheme, WARM’s reviews have ensured that key components—such as wall and floor build‑ups, window performance, shading strategies and ventilation systems—meet Passivhaus requirements, with technical clarifications and improvements incorporated as the project progressed. This rigorous approach helped safeguard energy performance, indoor comfort, and long‑term resilience.
The building is timber frame and Porotherm clay blocks. The heating and hot water is provided by individual compact units (combined ventilation / heat pumps).
